Malmesbury Golf Course was established in 1960 and is popular among locals and Capetonians alike especially in the Cape's difficult wet winter conditions as an attractive parkland course with views over the Paardeberg Mountains and with Table Mountain clearly visible on clear days. .
Since November 2005 the Malmesbury Golf Club has been incorporated into the prestigious MOUNT ROYAL GOLF & COUNTRY ESTATE (www.mountroyalestate.co.za) but retains financial and administrative autonomy. The existing 9 hole course is shortly due to be upgraded to an 18 hole course as part of the second phase of development of Mount Royal together with an accompanying club house upgrade. The new course is laid out along the hillside contours of Mount Royal and with its generous views over the surrounding farmlands will be one of the most scenic in the Western Cape.
